About the event
When plants are dormant and the sap is low it is the perfect time to harvest vines and other woody materials. We will predominantly work with brambles and ivy to make two different baskets- a twined stake and strand pot, and a simple frame foraging basket.
This course is part of a series of 4 spaced throughout the year. Each weekend course we will work with the seasons to learn how to forage, prepare and work with a variety of wild materials using a range of traditional and innovative basketry techniques.
The courses will open your eyes to the craft possibilities that exist in every garden, hedgerow, riverside, bog and wasteland!
There is the opportunity to camp at the Centre with access to kitchen, w.c. and shower. There is a small charge of £5 per person/per night.A simple mid-day meal will be provided each day.
You are able to book this course as a block of all 4 weekends, or as a stand alone booking. If you book on all four courses you will get a discount of £40 for the last (Weaving Wild – Autumn) course.
